It is hard to imagine the challenges that refugees all over the world must face. This is why Doctors Without Borders created their web tool, A Refugee Camp on the Web. This interactive slideshow gives people a virtual tour of a refugee camp and walks them step by step through the challenges refugees must deal with everyday as well as shares personal stories from refugees.
EMPTY HANDED
Women in sub-Saharan Africa rarely have the access to family planning tools and information that they require. Empty Handed, a film shot by PAI filmmaker Nathan Golon, documents the struggles these women face trying to find contraceptives. When they are unsuccessful, they are denied the tools needed to prevent unwanted pregnancies (as well as STIs). Family planning is an effective strategy in reducing maternal mortality. In developing countries, where women have access to contraceptives, the risk of dying due to pregnancy and childbirth is 1 in 75. In sub-Saharan Africa, the risk of dying is 1 in 22. The documentary shows the devastating consequences for family size, abortion, pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and other STIs if there is a lack of access to contraceptives and teaching.
DYING FOR LIFE
Maternal health is an important issue in global health, and although the data suggests that maternal health has made a turn for the better, 342,900 women still die each year due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Dying for Life reporters tell stories of women around the world who are struggling not to lose their lives while trying to give life. Dying for Life also provides an opportunity for readers to share and submit their own stories.
COMBATTING DRUG RESISTANCE
A large amount of time and effort goes into developing and distributing medications to treat common diseases in developing countries. A new CGD report warns that because of improper use of these drugs, diseases are becoming resistant and we are losing our ability to treat them. This short film, The Race Against Drug Resistance, follows Khalifa, a nurse in Ghana, and her struggle with drug resistant typhoid. Through the film experts explain how vital it is that we prevent drug resistance through proper use and distribution of existing drugs.
FAMILY PLANNING TOOLKIT
K4Health has organized a new online toolkit on community-based family planning. The toolkit provides comprehensive resources on community-based family planning methods and programs all in one convenient location, and offers guidance and implementation strategies useful to many in the public health field.

As long as there is No proper Nutrition and dietary reformation in families in the vulnerable communities in Rural Setups mostly on the African Continent, we are yet to get more Deaths since these people are very Ignorant on how to administer drugs without Food substances in their Immune Systems. How can one take tablets on an empty stomach?
More so , many even can’t control proper dosages without guidances in their homesteads. We have lost many lives in this trend and I urge Concerned doctors to wake up and draw solutions to save many lives through sensitization awareness programs.
