J2J Training Program Kicks Off at GHC Annual Conference

Sponsored journalists gain expertise and cover a wide swath of global health issues presented at the Conference.
The selected journalists will take part in a four-day media training on global health issues, in advance of the GHC conference June 13-17, in Washington, D.C.
Fellows from Brazil, China, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia and South Africa will hear from experts on such topics as global antibiotic resistance, HIV/AIDS, malaria, cancer in women, immunization, family planning, tuberculosis, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and more.

We couldn't find a better partner for this work than the National Press Foundation, who have established an impressive track record with their J2J programs."
Because the program involves international journalists, NPF will conduct it under its Journalist to Journalist (j2j) banner. The program builds on NPF's extensive experience educating international journalists on some of the most urgent global health issues: HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and other lung diseases, Alzheimer's disease and cancer. After the training, the 12 fellows will attend the Global Health Council Conference, which will focus on themes related to chronic disease, urbanization, malnutrition and balancing health needs. As always, audio recordings and Powerpoint slides will be posted on the NPF website after the program.
Funding for the journalist education program has come from Johnson & Johnson, Elsevier, Diageo, the NPF Program Fund and the Global Health Council.
NPF is a 501-c-3 that provides educational opportunities for journalists. The Global Health Council is a U.S.-based membership organization that works to ensure that all who strive for improvement and equity in global health have the information and resources they need to succeed.
